Dr. Dominic D’Agostino is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He is the founder of the website Keto Nutrition and has appeared on over 200 podcasts on metabolic health.

In addition, he works as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). His team creates and evaluates metabolic-based techniques for addressing CNS oxygen toxicity (seizures), epilepsy, neurodegenerative disorders, brain cancer, and metastatic cancer.

Over the last 12 years, his lab has been studying the anticonvulsant and neuroprotective mechanisms of the ketogenic diet and ketone metabolite supplementation. This method can be utilized to treat a wide range of illnesses that are pathophysiologically associated with metabolic imbalance. Other areas of interest include the development of metabolic-based cancer medicines.

He served as a research investigator and crew member on NASA‘s Severe Environment Mission Operation (NEEMO 22), and he has a special interest in environmental medicine and techniques to improve safety and physiological resilience in extreme conditions. The Office of Naval Study (ONR), the Department of Defense (DoD), commercial groups, and foundations all contribute to his research. He has written and co-authored several books. His recent study is reflected in his book, ‘Tripping Over the Truth’.

Dominic D’Agostino at Instagram

Dominic D’Agostino at Twitter

Dominic D’AgostinoLinkedin

Works
