He is the 2013 Best Science Writing editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Siddhartha Mukherjee’s latest book is THE GENE: An Intimate History<\/a>, which tells the narrative of the effort to discover the master code of instructions that creates and defines us, dictates our shape, function, and fate, and decides our children’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Works<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mukherjee is a cancer specialist<\/a> and researcher who works as an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University<\/a>. He attended Stanford University<\/a>, the University of Oxford<\/a>, and Harvard Medical School<\/a> as a Rhodes Scholar<\/a>. He has published articles in Nature<\/a>, The New England Journal of Medicine<\/a>, The New York Times<\/a>, and Cell<\/a>.
